ABSTRACT

As a unique innovative dosage form of China, traditional Chinese medicine injection (TCMI) has the characteristics of high bioavailability and rapid onset, therefore it plays an important role in the treatment of acute and severe diseases. However, more adverse reactions of TCMI have been reported along with its wide application in clinic and the increasing varieties. In the clinical application process, there are obvious color differences between the same kind of injection, which has attracted the attention of researchers whether this phenomenon is related to safety. The safety issue of TCMI has become more and more prominent, which greatly limits the application and development of TCMI. In this article, we summarized the reasons that influenced the chromatic aberration and safety of the TCMI, and analyzed the relationships between them. It is expected to provide some new ideas for exploring the reasons that affect the safety of TCMI and improving TCMI quality by technical improvement. This article provided a reference for rational application of TCMI in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

Based on the concept of quality marker (Q-marker) and the application of Q-marker in traditional Chinese medicine, the quality control methods of Chinese materia medica injections were put forward, taking salvianolic acids for injection as an example. Through the analysis of components, efficacy and pharmacokinetics, it has been identified that the Q-marker of salvianolic acids for injection were salvianolic acid B, rosmarinic acid, lithospermic acid, salvianolic acid D, and salvianolic acid Y. The quality control system of multi-index content determination, fingerprint, near infrared on-line control, and biological quality control was established with Q-marker as the core. It provides a reference for the new ideas of quality control of Chinese materia medica injection.

ABSTRACT

To summarize the active components in commonly-used Chinese materia medica (CMM) injections and related CMM for cardiovascular disease, and provide the reference for the effective treatment of cardiovascular disease. We searched CNKI, Wanfang Data, PubMedand, and the reference lists of identified articles (from initial to September 1, 2014), and reviewed the literature. The commonly-used CMM injections for cardiovascular disease involve 15 kinds of injection, including Shenfu Injection, Shenmai Injection, Ciwujia Injection, Danhong Injection, etc. Three prescriptions originated from classical prescriptions but others were from the result of clinical and research. The CMMs in these prescriptions were all less in number, single flavor accounted for 60%, the maximum was three herbs. These injections mainly aimed at heart blood stasis syndrome, with many pharmacological effects of protection on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion damage, anti-thrombosis, anti-oxidants, and expansion of coronary artery. The most commonly-used CMMs were Salvia Miltiorrhiza Radix, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma Rubra, and Carthami Flos. The kinds of active components included flavonoid, saponin, quinones, etc. This article provides a basis for the effective treatment of cardiovascular disease.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the feasibility of four methods for macromolecule protein determination in Chinese materia medica (CMM) injection. Methods: The sensitivity, specificity, and protein test results of sulfosalicylic acid, Coomassie brilliant blue, Lowry, and size exclusion chromatograph (SEC) methods on five kinds of CMM injections were compared. Results: Sulfosalicylic acid method had low sensitivity, Coomassie brilliant blue and Lowry methods had poor specificities, and SEC method had high sensitivity and good specificity. No protein was detected in five kinds of CMM injection by SEC. Conclusion: SEC is suitable for the determinatoin of macromolecule protein in CMM injection.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the drug use status of Chinese materia medica injection(CMMI)in our hospital.METHODS:Chinese materia medica injection(CMMI)used in our hospital from2002to2004was analyzed statistically in terms of consumption sum, defined daily dose(DDDs)and the average daily consumption sum(DDDc).RESULTS:The consumption sum of CMMI in3years increased year by year with annual increase rates of29.7%and32.3%,respectively.The cardio-cerebral vascular CMMI steadily dominated the first place in terms of consumption sum and DDDs in3years with a steady increase year by year from a high starting point. The DDDc of antitumor CMMI ranked the toppest. As for the consumption sum for single variety, xuesaitiong steadily ranked the first place in3years.CONCLUSION:The fast increase of the consumption of CMMI shows that it has a great market demand.
